Nature Preserve Field Trip with Xani

This was fun field trip with Xani's class. We went into the Georgia mountains and hiked around looking at different trees. Some were really old and very tall. At the end they got to make a piece of paper from tree pulp. Lots of fun to be with Xani and her friends from school.

Xani's "Blankie"

When Xani was little she had a beautiful chenille blanket. She quickly found that she enjoyed poking her fingers through the threads and twisting and pulling. Her special "Blankie" soon became a pathetic ball of tangled yarn. It really didn't matter, she loved it just the same. I'm sure people thought I was horrible letting her carry it with her wherever she went. It didn't matter to me. I'm just glad she was comforted so easily. Besides, who could say no to her? She was so dang cute!!

Xani - Daves Creek Elementary Talent Show 2009

Xani tried out for the school talent show in December. She was one of about 75 acts that auditioned but only 25 were chosen. They love her performance and she was accepted. She sang the main song from "Mulan" - Reflections. She did awesome. I sewed her kimono - pat myself on the back. Those sleeves were buggers!! What a fun evening.

Warning!!

"What a great mofning to finish decorating for Christmas... Won't the kids be surprised when they get home and see the house all fancy... boy, I'm really thirsty... I'll stop for a minute and get a soda... *^&$@^**!!!"
This was my train of thought this morning while I was merrily going about my day. Little did I know what was secretly waiting for me in the fridge. Yes, a soda bomb. Yes, it exploded all over my entire kitchen. Yes, I almost started to cry. Yes, instead I did what any good photographer would do , I grabbed my camera!! Now it is documented for everyone to see and enjoy. Hope it brings a smile to your face!! Morale of the story... don't drink soda in the morning!!

Xani's 9th Birthday!

Xani is growing up sooooo quickly. She is such an incredible daughter, sister and friend. She is probably one of the kindest people I know. I'm lucky to be her mother and have had 9 incredible years with her.
Little did I know that the candles that I grabbed from the drawer with the kind that DON'T blow out. They just kept lighting themselves again and again. It was great to watch her expression after she thought she'd blown hard enough to get them all out! Anyway... Happy Birthday, Princess Middle! Love you so much... Mom

Tasia - YW in Excellence

For YW in Excellence this year, the theme is "It's Black and White". I took pictures of each girl and changed them to b/w. We are putting them in a black frame with a white mat. Those will be the decorations for night. Each girl has been asked to wear b/w. The only color for the night will be some tulle the value colors that will run throughout the pictures on the tables. We have 35 YW with more coming in soon. It's awesome to work with these girls. They truly are chosen to come during the time on earth. Each one is unique, yet the exact same in their dedication to the church and it's teachings. I've really grown to love them.
